Meet Stacy & Nick
Hello! We are Stacy & Nick, owners of The Utmost Host! We are a married couple who decided to turn their passion for hospitality and vacation rental properties into a business that would enable us to help others become successful vacation property owners.
The journey in vacation rental properties started in 2006, with a 3 bedroom vacation home in Winter Park, CO; a 14-hour drive from our home in North Texas! Stacy created processes to be able to self-manage from afar and had a very successful 5 years under her belt before selling the property. In 2020, we decided to purchase another home in the beautiful mountain and lake town of Hochatown, OK. (aka Broken Bow). We quickly achieved both Airbnb Superhost and VRBO Premier Host status with our Broken Bow cabin rental, and other owners started to ask Stacy to teach them how to self-manage their own properties. Stacy used her extensive professional background which includes learning and development, project management, business coaching and, of course, vacation rental expertise, to create the STaRt Smart program to help other owners create their own successful self-managed vacation rental businesses. Not only has Stacy helped hundreds of Broken Bow cabin owners, but she expanded her coaching to STR owners all over the US having helped STR owners in over 15 different states so far!
As we worked with more and more owners, we began to realize there was a gap in the Broken Bow vacation property management offerings. Many owners we spoke to in Broken Bow and Hocahtown wanted some semblance of control over the things that mattered most (especially cleaning and maintenance) but were not as enthusiastic about the systems and backend pieces such as listing management and guest communications. The only options were to self-manage for full control or to turn all control (and a good chunk of their revenue) over to a full-management company. We thought, what if we could create a model that is in between self-management and full management, but a step above both? Thus, The Utmost Host Co-Hosting was born!
Our work backgrounds: Stacy's career history includes being a successful franchise business owner for 10 years where she was recognized for her skills at creating automated processes while still keeping a personal touch with customers.She then spent the latter parts of her career as a Franchise Business coach and the Director of Systems for a large franchisor. Nick spent 20+ years in the hospitality industry, 10 of those years on a cruise ship as a Lido deck supervisor and an assistant maitre d' where every waking moment was spent scrutinizing over the ship's cleanliness, his staff's impeccable guest service and offering world-class hospitality. Nick then moved to the auto industry where he consistently set records for car sales at his dealership and boasted a 99% customer satisfaction rating throughout the years. The combination of their skillset and interpersonal communication skills makes them the perfect fit for this business model.
On a personal note: We have 3 grown children and 2 precious (but mischievous) furbabies. We love to travel, shop and work together! Most of all, we are both "people" persons who love to help others achieve happiness and success.
